Ad Hoc Query & Enterprise Reporting

In comparison to IBM Query/400 and most query tools, NGS-IQ gives you the extra function required to produce useful reports from a single query. Instead of assembling reports from multiple work files generated by a string of queries, you can easily define conditionally calculated fields, calculate values from summary totals, and generate rankings, running totals, and more.

NGS-IQ features a Wizard to help you join DB2 files correctly and the option of assigning more descriptive names to otherwise difficult to understand DB2 files and fields.

NGS-IQ empowers users to customize their reports by allowing them to enter variable criteria for selecting records, calculating fields, and delivering the finished report. Authorized users working locally or remotely can quickly generate Excel workbooks and sheets, Access tables, Word documents, OLAP presentations, drillable HTML reports for web presentation, PDF files, and more. E-mail and FTP functions are built-in to support information sharing.

Business Performance Dashboard

The NGS Business Performance Dashboard is a complete information delivery solution that gives an organization the ability to view, present, and interact with live business data in a flexible, graphical format from a Web browser. Presentations can include charts, tables, gauges, maps, and other visualization tools to help make business information easy to see, understand, and analyze at a glance.

Financial reports, management scorecards, sales performance presentations, board-level reports, and other critical information can be quickly transformed from static numbers into dynamic, interactive presentations that support filtering along various business dimensions, what-if analysis, and more. No programming is required. In fact, most dashboard designers are business analysts with Microsoft Excel™ 2003 skills and an understanding of management’s preference for monitoring business performance. End users with Web browser navigation skills can point and click their way through the dashboards with ease.

Multi-Dimensional OLAP Analysis

The SmartView module of NGS-IQ offers you the ability to transform your reports into portable, multi-dimensional presentations with dynamic drill-down from summary to detail, user-defined critical-value highlighting, pivoting across business dimensions, and presentation quality charts and graphs.

SmartView lets users present, but not change, the data that underlies their presentation so managers can trust that what they are seeing is based on actual business data extracted directly from the iSeries.

Data Warehouse/Data Mart Development

NGS-IQ can serve as your complete, end-to-end business intelligence solution. The Data Warehouse Manager module runs on the iSeries and supports virtually unlimited data extraction, consolidation, cleansing, and transformation.

To simplify your development project, NGS also offers Decision Assist, the pre-defined data warehouse model and business analytics starter kit. Decision Assist can be easily deployed over your iSeries applications to support the analysis of sales, customer profitability, inventory management, and more. Decision Assist is built entirely with NGS-IQ and can be extended and maintained by a trained business analyst.
